Covid-19 Virus Latest Update 

The team at Dr Yerra's GP practice are currently experiencing a high volume of calls from people who need urgent help and advice.  The high rates of community transmission of the Covid virus, coupled with the growing numbers of people being admitted to hospital, mean the whole of the NHS across the North West region is under pressure. 

For this reason, it is taking us longer than we would like to respond to calls and we are having to ask people who have less urgent health needs to wait a bit longer for an appointment.  We are continuing to prioritise urgent cases. 

If your condition is not as urgent, we would ask that you look at the other options available for accessing NHS services e.g.  

  • Following self-care advice where you can from www.nhs.uk 
  • Using your local pharmacy for expert help and advice for every-day conditions 
  • Using online services where you can request repeat prescriptions via the NHS app or your practice patient online service 
  • Seeking support and advice from NHS 111 online to direct you to the best service for your needs if you’re not sure what to do.   
  • Thank you for your support and your patience. 

 

  • Prescription requests- Did you know that you can now order your prescriptions via email? Please email your prescription requests to; 

         gpccg.prescriptionsdrjhassurgery@nhs.net. 

  • Please allow 48 hours for prescription requests.

 

 

  • COVID19 Statuses
  • Accesing  your Covid 19 status-You can access your COVID-19 vaccination status through the free NHS App from 17 May. You can access the app through mobile devices such as a smartphone or by tablet. Proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status will be shown within the NHS App. We recommend that you register with the app before booking international travel.

  • If you do not have access to a smartphone and know that the country you are travelling to requires COVID-19 vaccination status, you can call the NHS helpline on 119 (from 17 May) and ask for a letter to be posted to you. This must be at least 5 days after you’ve completed your course of the vaccine. We expect the letter to take up to 5 days to reach you.

  • Do not contact your GP surgery about your COVID-19 vaccination status.

  • GPs cannot provide letters showing your COVID-19 vaccination status."

7 Days Access

Our practice is a part of several practices working together to provide primary care services outside of normal core hours.  

We are able to offer GP & Nurse appointment on Sunday.

These clinics are held at Brairwood Medical Centre, (Hub) and one sunday at Guttridge Medical centre.   If you require a routine appointment and sunday is convenient for you then please speak to our reception staff who will provide you inforamtion and book appointment for you. Nurse can provides all  types of anual reviews, childhood imms and smear check.  Patients can cancel pre-booked appointment by calling the centre.

Please note: admin staff working at the locality surgery (Hub) will not have access to your full medical records so will not be able to queries on referrals, prescriptions, lab results and private work.

Our receptionists are here to help you as best they can. Please remember that if you are kept waiting or seem to be asked detailed questions, they are only follwing practice policies to help the Practice run smoothly. So be patience with them. Everyone working for the NHS has a legal duty to keep information about you confidential including  Receptionists.
